GSI LA112: “Landscape Plants: Identification and Use”


Job Description


The GSI for LA 112 is expected to attend all lectures and field walks.
Responsibilities include the collection and maintenance of cut specimens in the plant lab, assistance in locating field specimens for study and review, maintain a running, cumulative list of plants studied throughout the course, including plant names, dates studied, and field locations, and web-site updates.

The GSI is expected to assist in preparing and grading quizzes, exams, assignments and notebooks, maintain projection equipment, and coordinate guest speakers.

The GSI for LA 112 should have a good knowledge of plant materials in the Bay Area as well as a strong interest in horticulture and planting design. The candidate needs to be comfortable working with digital information.
