GSI LA 120
The GSI for this class must have a clear understanding of the principles of grading and drainage. Experience with landscape construction will also be useful, but is not necessary. The GSI for LA_120 is expected to provide instruction and support to students during class time and to establish standard hours outside of class for student appointments. Their duty also includes assisting with the correction and red-lining of weekly class assignments, and reviewing students' final prototypes or papers. The time commitment will vary between 10 and 15 hours a week, depending on the class topic and difficulty of problems. (On average: 4 hours in class each week, 3-4 hours of appointments, 3-4 hours of red-lining) Research on technical aspects of construction, pulling slides, aiding with the preparation of grading problems and Xeroxing assignments will be required at times. The GSI is expected to meet with course instructor once a week for discussion of class objectives and student progress.
