PUBLIC SERVICE

Public agencies and professionals use the Laboratory to assess projects including proposed designs, housing developments, street systems, urban zoning patterns and height limitations. Studies of alternative future urban growth scenarios have been used to develop design and planning guidelines for city and county planning departments and planning agencies nationwide. Educational films produced in the Laboratory demonstrate the environmental planning process, as well as the potential impact of development proposals, and are frequently shown on television.
